The South African Professional Association for Secretaries and Administrative
Assistants, announced on 6 September that Heidi Stiger, Executive Assistant to
Raymond Schkolne: Chief Human Resources Officer at Sanlam Investments,
was awarded the title of South Africa’s PA of the Year 2017. This
award was presented to her by current Miss South Africa, Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters,
at a stylish event at The Sun Time Square in Pretoria.

successful nominees had to answer two questionnaires that were assessed by a
panel made up of their peers. On Secretaries day, Wednesday 6 September, had to
face a final panel made up by industry experts and answer their questions in
front of an audience of 2 00 PAs attending the morning PA Summit.

sharp mind, her ability to articulate herself well, as well as her obvious
passion for her role and her profession.
PA of the Year Award clearly sets standards, raises standards and elevates the
excellence bar of the secretarial and Admin profession, and to receive such an
award is high praise indeed. Winners are elevated to the top of their
professions and are critical to ensuring the survival of their profession through
their demonstrated high standards of commitment and excellence.
